Decision Day - one week today....briefing sessions scheduled

A week today our CCG colleagues will be debating and voting on whether to back the biggest local healthcare changes in 10 years.     The two local CCG boards - Calderdale and Greater Huddersfield - are sharing a meeting at Cedar Court  Hotel, Ainley Top,  to discuss whether to give the  reconfiguration proposals the green light or not.  read more

Falls Prevention team man a stall on National Older People's Day

Delirium care so good it's expanding across CHFT

Hot on the success of the work on wards 19 and 20 - our Trustwide Prevention of Delirium team is growing.     The team of 12 engagement support workers will work across both hospital sites and are headed up by Co-ordinator Kirsty Jowett and Clinical Lead, Caroline Sellers.  read more

Carole Hallam has been in Florida at the Association of Vascular Access Conference... dodging snakes and alligators!.     She presented a paper on Vessel Health and Preservation and has now been asked to write a chapter in a new book on the subject for all healthcare professionals.  read more

Members of the Attendance Management Team have been holding roadshows over the last two weeks at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital.     The purpose of the drop-in session have been to support colleagues to better understand the Policy on Attendance Management and the support available to maintain a good standard of general health .  read more

Mary Habron's funeral is being held next week

Our former colleague Mary Habron has sadly passed away at the age of 77.     Her funeral takes place next Wednesday at St Patrick's Church, Huddersfield at noon and then at Huddersfield Crematorium from 1.15 pm.     Mary was a ward clerk on Ward 4 before she retired and also worked as a nurse bank coordinator.  read more

Calderdale Safeguarding Week 17 to 23 October - helping raise awareness

After the success of last year’s first ever Safeguarding Week in Calderdale, the event is back, continuing to raise awareness of the role we all have to protect vulnerable children and adults.     There is a huge programme of events planned - see the attached programme.  read more
