   It's been a flying to start to our flu campaign 2016. And today has been dubbed "Full On Flu Day".     In the first three days of this week around 500 colleagues have been vaccinated to protect themselves and their families this winter....great stuff.

Laura Szep is one of the latest cohort of new nursing recruits.     She was one of 40 (see attached group pic)  who are starting their first weeks on the wards and departments after a week of induction.     They started on the wards and departments on Monday.     Laura Szep is now with the team on ward 8.

Shhh... you\'re great

380 days without a single MRSA - top all-round effort.

   Shhhhh! but CHFT is quietly celebrating a major MRSA milestone.  We haven't had a case of bacteraemia for over a year - 386 days to be precise.  And that is a tremendous effort.      When records first started  in 2006/07 we had 17 MRSA bacteraemia.  These are infections of the blood.

Farewell, Mel - surprise baby shower for Mel Tempest

Melanie Tempest, Ward manager on ward 12 at HRI last week celebrated the up and coming arrival of her baby.     Melanie came to the Trust after working at Weston Park in Sheffield as a staff nurse, 10 years ago and is now the band 7.     She worked relentlessly for the last 7 months despite her increasing size and is now hoping for a rest before the birth of her baby.  read more

Remembering our colleagues Anthony Tipton and Ann Cross

The Research Team are sad to announce the death of their colleague Anthony who died suddenly earlier this month. Anthony has worked for the Research Team for the last 5 years, as an Admin Assistant. He was a well-respected and well thought-of member of our team. His death will be a huge loss.  read more

It's here. After an amazing journey and installation process our second MRI scanner at HRI is now in place and almost ready for our first patients.     It replaces and is located on the same site as the previous visiting mobile MRI scanners.
