Get LACE-d up and improve discharges

Our virtual ward team is urging nurses to help make our discharge process smoother.  At the moment their records show that only about 40% of patients set for discharge are being recorded on the electronic LACE screening tool on PASWEB.  LACE stands for: Length of Stay; Acute Admissions; Co-morbidities; Emergency Attendances.

We are delighted to welcome Chief Nurse Margaret Kitching to our Nursing and Midwifery Conference next month (Friday, September 18, YMCA, Salendine Nook, 9-4.30 pm).  She'll be our keynote speaker and will be talking about her decision to go into nursing and her views on the future for the profession.

Lesley and Jason head next Big Brief - Weds Aug 5

CHFT praised by national NHS boss

Chris Hopson, the chief executive of NHS Providers

Chris Hopson, the chief executive of NHS Providers (which supports hospital trusts) has visited our Trust and praised the way we are "busting a gut" to face up to the current financial situation.  He was impressed with our plans to restructure for the sake of patient safety and said our work collaborating with other trusts was among the most interesting in the country.
