Celebrating Success 2015 - the results from last night!

All winners

Cheers rang out and emotions ran high at stunning Huddersfield Town Hall last night at Celebrating Success 2015.     The top award of the night went to a team of midwives who now perform a little operation on newborn babies if they are born tongue-tied and cannot feed properly.

We’ve finally had confirmation of the date the CQC will be coming to inspect CHFT, and I don’t know about you but I’m pleased we can put some real focus behind all the planning we’ve been doing.        The CQC will be with us on 8 March 2016 for several days.

Teamwork and timing. Round-up from our first Theatres Action Week.

Last week was our first Theatres Action Week where the whole pathway for our patients booked in for surgery -  at both hospitals - came under scrutiny.     The week was staged to help us to look at new ways of improving productivity to provide better service for patients.

They were the final words from Therapies Team leader Avril Henson at a packed buffet lunch to say farewell to community colleagues transferring to Locala.     In an emotional event, in the physio dept at HRI, Avril, said it was a time to celebrate all their achievements delivering patient care.

Praise for HRI Nursery from Ofsted

All smiles at Spring Cottage

Spring Cottage, the on-site nursery at HRI underwent an Ofsted inspection in August, and received  some fantastic comments.  The nursery  received an overall rating of "good".  Cath Manning, said: “Children benefit from the effective key-person system - that measures personal development -  which helps them feel settled, safe and secure.

Find it, Treat it, Beat it - Be Sepsis aware

World Sepsis day is on 13th September every year, so CHFT want to take the opportunity to launch our new pathways and refresh our messages about Sepsis.  Sepsis is a major reason for admission to hospital and is a major contributor to deaths in hospital both nationally and locally.
